Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities including working with the Accounting Manager and the rest of the GL team in the following activities:

General Ledger and Financial Statement Preparation
Ensure that proper general ledger accounts are used by all office locations
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare and review journal entries
Prepare and reconcile numerous general ledger accounts
Assist with posting of fixed assets acquisitions in the fixed assets system and reconciling the balances with general ledger
Responsible for cash management functions (daily cash reports, office funding)
Assist in month end close
Analyze and rectify the erroneous postings to various general ledger accounts
Assist in general ledger structure including the Firm’s Chart of Accounts, entity structure and all general ledger interfaces including all subsidiary ledgers
Assist with special projects and other related financial analysis
Collaborate with other Finance Department members to support overall department goals and objectives

Salary: $70,000 to $95,000 (DOE)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial transactions and reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong leadership qualities
Proficiency in the Microsoft suite, especially Excel. 3E, FAS (asset system) and Thomson Reuters AFS experience is a plus
This job is performed in an office environment 2-3 days / week and from home the remainder of the 35 hour week, all as agreed upon with the Accounting Manager
