  • AAS in Accounting, General Business or related field with relevant industry payroll experience; or High School Diploma with 5+ years Human Resources Generalist/Payroll experience required.
  • Experience working within a Union Contract is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in HRIS systems such as UKG, and KRONOS is strongly preferred.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality of employee information, demonstrate good communication skills, be very detail oriented.

  • Process payrolls bi-weekly for 355+ hourly employees.
  • Unit Scheduling: Comprehend the Union Contract(s) in order to develop weekly schedules for operators. Work with supervisors weekly to publish 16 unit schedules by 4:00 PM per Union Contract. Work with the Training Group to schedule training for Operators. Manage and process forms for vacation trades and shift trades. Maintain schedules in KRONOs.
  • Hourly Vacation Scheduling: Coordinate annual vacation folders for USW Operations Employees. Maintain an accurate count of employees’ vacation.
  • Ensure time is entered and coded correctly for all hourly employees in accordance with the respective labor contract and state/federal wage and hour laws.
  • Run and publish overtime reports monthly per unit.
  • Update and distribute weekly step-up report to management.
  • Enter Salaried non-exempt overtime into PeopleAssist.
  • Obtain full/working knowledge of KRONOS Timekeeping system.
  • Furnish payroll data and information as requested to supervisors, HR and Legal.
  • Furnish reports on routine and as requested basis for various departments, HR and Management, some for legal purposes.
  • Track absences and notify supervisors when an employee should have an unpaid day based on attendance per contract.
  • Work with individual employees concerning payroll issues where there are questions/problems. Notify hourly and salaried employees of pay issues.
  • Work with Corporate Payroll and HRIS Departments to ensure pay codes are accurate.
  • Order and maintain office supplies.
  • Ensure that refinery quality and safety initiatives are carried out in daily activities.
