Staff Auditor

POSITIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected candidate, working under the direction of senior auditors, will be responsible for the following tasks:

 Participate in the planning of audits and conduct reviews of various Port Authority functions, operations and business processes, including reviews of private sector partners doing business with the Port Authority. 

Develop the audit scope and audit program. 

Executing the audit work, including the gathering and analysis of required data and information.

 Prepare work papers and include in Teammate+ automated workpaper application.

 Draft audit report summarizing the results of the audit and recommendations for improvement.

 Communicate audit results to auditee and/or PA management.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

 Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related area.

 One to four years’ experience in the auditing field is preferred; will also consider 0-2 years of college campus jobs, internships, or general work experience, in-lieu-of auditing experience.

 Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, most importantly Excel.

 Demonstrated effective written, oral and interpersonal skills. 

Ability to interact effectively with internal staff and external professionals at all levels.

Must be able to travel to other Port Authority facilities as well as PA auditee locations/offices as needed.
