As a Senior Performance Engineer, you'll be part of the Performance and Scale team. In collaboration with the team, you will explore performance of various product capabilities, automate performance monitoring of software and infrastructure, measure/analyze/report performance and capacity metrics and contribute to automation framework and tools development.
Design and deliver Performance asks of large scopes with high confidence
Collaborate with technical leads and identify product and architectural issues
Develop tools to measure & monitor performance and identify bottlenecks in various Illumio products
Lead Infrastructure and application performance tuning
Distill volume data, analyze performance results, and diagnose performance problems
Drive Capacity estimating, modeling, and planning
Mentor and guide team members
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Experience in performance engineering for enterprise software products
Experience building and leveraging tooling to explore and find scalability limits of distributed software systems
Advanced knowledge of Linux/Windows based systems and tools
Strong Database fundamentals spanning one or more of RDBMS, NoSQL
Proficiency in one or more programming languages like C++, Ruby, Python, Scala
Understanding of Distributed Systems and RESTful APIs
Understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
Experience with telemetry tools (e.g. Splunk, Elk or Time Series databases)
Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale software backends (e.g., APIs, high volume data pipelines, )
Ability to model configurations by analyzing software systems, business applications and their communication patterns
