Stamping Press Operator - job 2 of 2

Position Overview:

This position supports department objectives by running a stamping press and working alongside press associates in accomplishing their daily tasks to ensure maximum productivity and job safety.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

· Assist Manufacturing Lead with press efficiency and productivity.

· Assist with preparation for start of work to ensure presses are ready

· Post all work orders at the end of working day for following day

· Ensure safety standards are maintained in the press area.

· Notify Manufacturing Lead of any unsafe conditions or associates not performing work safely or productively

· Ensure dies are set up to meet production demand.

· Perform die setups on daily basis

· Maintain dies to ensure quick die setup changeovers

· Ensure press area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.

· Maintain an organized environment in the press area throughout the day

· Ensure daily clean-up of press area

· Ensure scrap bins are emptied as needed

· Ensure bulk storage area is clean and organized at all times

· Assist Lead with press room inventory.

· Conduct press room inventory monthly, quarterly, and yearly (as needed)

· Maintain an accurate physical count on inventory of all products at all times

· Maintain Company quality standards in all press room activities.

· Observe quality of all production leaving the press area

· Notify Lead of quality issues and assist with correction of production quality as necessary

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Expertise:

· Two years of manufacturing experience using machinery, tools, and equipment.

· Working knowledge of metal stamping operations to include experience with automatic feed punch press lines, tooling, progressive dies, and quick die changes in presses up to 250 tons (preferred)

· Familiarity with data entry computer skills (preferred)

· This position requires forklift certification.
