The Product Manager will be responsible for the development of automotive aftermarket product strategies for their assigned lines to include new product development, product marketing, new product introductions, market research, and Original Equipment (OE) research. In addition, you will partner with other internal departments in the engineering, design/development and the testing of new products.Responsibilities:• Act as a category expert in your product categories• Define new product initiatives while optimizing the ongoing product line for maximum profitability.• Define and develop 1-3 year product portfolio roadmaps• Deliver product introductions on-time and within budget, for assigned product lines• Develop and drive brand, product and line strategy• Work Closely with the pricing department on new product introductions to achieve planned market position and gross margin targets• Identify and develop new product opportunities• Work within a cross-functional team through all phases of the product design and development process, manufacturing and sourcing process through to product launch• Represent the “voice of customer" on product development teams to assure objectives are met• Collaborate with the marketing services team on marketing strategy for assigned products including literature, advertising, product sales training and support materials• Contribute to new business development efforts, including new category and new channel assessment• Prepare Market Requirements Document and product specifications along with the product development / engineering team• Preparing accurate up-to-date reports and reviews on project schedules and cost analysis• Evaluate ideas and suggestions for new products, investigate market opportunities and effect on market for present products.• Recommend specific and measurable Marketing objectives for product lines in terms of $ Sales, Gross Profits, and Market Share• Lead implementation of new product launches outlined in the product marketing plan• Partner with operations (forecasting & supply chain) and sales planning to ensure fill rate targets are achieved• Responsible for acquiring, updating, and comparison of company product performance vs. competitive performance, and competitive landscaping (pricing, features, applications, and innovation)Key Competencies:• Strategic Planning• Market trends analysis• Project Management• Good communication skills and ability to communicate with sales team/channel partners• Analysis of Market Demand, Market Share and Value Proposition of own products vs. main competitorsRequirements:• BA / BS degree or equivalent experience• 3 to 5 years product management experience preferred• The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000- $80,000.Please note that the salary range provided on the job posting does not include potential bonuses and other forms of compensation and, in some cases, may fall outside the range.
