Responsibilities:
New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, Jonesboro, Arkansas campus seeks part time/per diem Standardized Patients (SPs) to act out medical stories to help train students to learn medical conditions, perform physical exams, and how to communicate with patients. Selected candidates will be given a script to learn, much like an actor would, then students will ask questions related to the story in make-believe doctor’s appointments. Students will also practice physical exams (no invasive exams) and talk with the “patient” about what might be wrong.

A standardized patient (SP) has the unique opportunity to shape the education of future physicians. By helping NYITCOM train our students, Standardized Patients will be a part of improving health care, and helping medical students to give empathetic care to all of their patients. This program is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, so application from underrepresented people groups is highly encouraged.
