Your best is waiting to be discovered.Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)This is a Stanford Health Care job.A Brief OverviewUnder the direction of the Administrative Director - Imaging Services performs responsible administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the staff and services in a major organizational segment or component within the Imaging Services Department at Stanford Health Care.The Imaging Services Director has full responsibility for project management process and systems, service metrics, pace planning, organizing, meeting performance management objectives, directing, and controlling resources and program delivery in assigned areas; including developing and implementing policies and procedural controls, quality improvement, the Stanford Operating System, compliance, competency assessment, patient care, budget development and control, personnel administration, and procurement.This is a managerial class with substantial responsibility for the exercise of independent judgment in employing, disciplining, or settling grievances of subordinatesLocationsStanford Health CareWhat you will do• Administers and coordinates functions and staff in a major functional area(s) of Imaging Services including, but not necessarily limited to: Diagnostic Radiology, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and Mammography.• Provides guidance and direction for manager or clinical site fulfilling their responsibilities to ensure an efficient and even flow of work assignments, personnel, and patients.• Responsible for development, interpretation, dissemination, and practice of departmental and hospital policies, procedures, regulations and information and all Lean and performance and quality improvement planning.• Demonstrates daily CICARE framework for structuring best practice communications and developing relationship-based care approaches with patients, coworkers, physicians and other customers at all clinical sites.• Demonstrates knowledge of Stanford Operating System including Mission, Vision, Values and Strategy and Performance System. Demonstrates Active Daily Management, standard work, recruiting, onboarding, training retraining, design thinking, huddles, visual walls, rounding linked check-in’s, Gemba and CICARE rounds.• Ensures hospital and departmental policies and procedures are maintained and followed.• Ensures department is in constant compliance with The Joint Commission, State and Federal regulatory agencies. Establishes, identifies, and ensures systems and standards that promote hospital mission of patient safety and safe practices for delivering patient care. Responsible for staff providing the highest quality service possible, including CICARE, to patients and their families.• Reviews department performance in relation to established goals, implements change to effect continual improvement in services provided, and ensures compliance with all internal and external standards as well as regulatory and legal requirements.• Responsible for overall quality provided by established services and for following the highest standards. Develops quality improvement program and competency assessment initiatives.• Reviews departmental operation for effectiveness with the use of on-line reports for labor distribution, revenue versus disbursements, productivity analysis and by departmental, administrative conferences, and daily metrics.• Directs, assists, and resolves problems encountered by supervisors and managers in the development of objectives, physical facility, equipment and supply needs, personnel, organizational structure, work distribution and operational processes.• Responsible for financial performance management, capital budget preparation, , after evaluating trends and consulting with division supervisors, radiologists and the medical staff; and for overall department material needs, mechanical contractors, personnel, new or modified equipment, and revenue increases as recommended to the administrative staff. Develops cost-effective programs, asset management measures to ensure financial targets are met.• Coordinates departmental purchases, provides guidance monitors and is ultimately responsible for managing supplies and costs.• Takes remedial action to resolve or improve deficient operational conditions or problems, changes in work pattern, personnel and patients; discusses with the Administrative Director - Imaging Services problems initiated by the medical staff for corrective action; helps in the recruitment of personnel and their selection and appointment; reviews and recommends merit increases, promotions, demotions, hiring and firing and reprimand practices.• Conducts frequent inspection and observation of Radiology Services facilities and operations to determine the effectiveness of operations and to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.• Meets and consults with the Administrative Director - Imaging Services concerning policies, procedures, patient care standards, facility utilization, operational matters and audits, and selection and termination of key technical personnel; assists in resolving related problems.• Represents the department in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings and may represent and back-up the Administrative Director - Imaging Services in other medical aspects, upon request. Meets and confers with other services concerning issues affecting Imaging Services. Works with Medical Staff, Nursing, and other healthcare professionals to resolve problems.• Recommends action to administration regarding equipment modifications, new equipment and essential construction within the department, assists in the planning for all new facilities, and recommends facilities, equipment and personnel needs.• Recommends short, intermediate and long-term goals and objectives for departmental planning.• Performs related duties as required.Education Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or work-related field• Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field preferredExperience Qualifications• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, To include: Radiology Management with clinical and operations experience within a large medical center• Understanding of an academic health system environment, procedure billing, reimbursement and coding specific to radiology operations is desired• Experience with clinical computerized software with RIS and PACS is desiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Proven leadership and communication skills• Demonstrated skills in financial management• Demonstrated skills and experience in business planning• Evidence of the ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships• Evidence of the ability to plan, implement and evaluate change• Proven skills in personnel management• Ability to make decisions on fact and sound judgment• Ability to conduct analysis and formulate conclusions and interpret results• Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus• Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues• Knowledge of project management process and systems• Ability to provide leadership and influence others• Ability to work in a complex, multi-divisional environment with the skills to establish priorities, set objectives and achieve stated goals• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility• Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management• Knowledge of principles, and procedures involved in the operation of radiologic equipmentLicenses and Certifications• ARRT - Radiology Tech License preferred or• NMT - Neurologic Music Ther preferred or• ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred or• CRA-Certified radiology administrator preferredThese principles apply to ALL employees:SHC Commitment to Providing an Exceptional Patient & Family ExperienceStanford Health Care sets a high standard for delivering value and an exceptional experience for our patients and families.
