MWH Constructors is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the implementation of a comprehensive 10-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) at the 70-MGD ECRWRF in West Palm Beach, FL. The CIP has an estimated value of over $250 million in planned improvements.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize and procure engineering consultants to perform the design service for the multiple projects identified in the CIP.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of independent on-site construction managers and superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent Company in project meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of third-party contracts to protect Owner's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Owner.
  • Work jointly with other members of the project team to complete the MWH Constructors' Construction Management Services Administration Plan prior to initiating any services by engineering consultants and independent contractors. Use the planning guidelines and tools provided throughout the implementation of planning design and construction of each CIP project.
  • Assist the Owner in the procurement of engineering consultants and independent contractors to perform the implementation services for the CIP projects.
  • Assure that direct reporting employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
  • Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to internal CMS team and use this technical expertise to review products produced by engineering consultants and project changes proposed by independent contractors which construct the CIP projects.
  • Support Change Management, Cost Estimating, revenue and Cost Forecasting and Scheduling.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Program Manager of the MWH team which serves the ECRWRF/Owner.

Basic Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training.
  • Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience or equivalent skills and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience on water or wastewater plants projects.
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize the protection of the Owner’s financial and quality interests
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital to the delivery of each CIP project on time and within budget.
  • Experience reviewing periodic pay applications of contractors and review of required schedule updates
  • Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
  • Essential requisite writing skills for the preparation of reports, request for proposals from engineering consultant and critical correspondence to the Owner.
  • Competency in all Microsoft suite of products
  • Safety oriented required, OSHA training (preferred)
  • Special experience and expertise with water/wastewater projects
  • Strong business-orientation required. Proven experience and judgment.
  • PE License REQUIRED
