The Office of Judicial Administration is responsible for the efficient administration of all agencies that operate under the direction of the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court. That includes 200 personnel; fiscal management; communication; technology; legal services; intergovernmental relations; services for the trial courts; and support for court boards, commissions, and committees. The Office is headed by Chief Administrative Officer Justin P. Forkner, who reports directly to the Chief Justice of Indiana and serves as the link between the Chief Justice and the agencies of the Court.Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $40,000 but may be commensurate with education and/or experience.To Apply: Please apply by September 13, 2024About the Job:This position serves as an Accountant 5 within the Indiana Supreme Court’s Fiscal division, primarily responsible for processing invoices and reimbursements, as well as the creation of Purchase Orders (POs).A Day in the Life:Prepares and processes invoices (vouchers), reimbursements, and Purchase Orders through PeopleSoft (State’s accounting system) in accordance with policies/procedures and best practices. Ensures timely and accurate processing of invoices in PeopleSoft Financials. Manages the accuracy and payment of invoices, to ensure payments are made in accordance with accounting rules and internal controls. Creates and processes POs in a timely and accurate manner. Scans documents in an organized fashion to our internal document repository (Microsoft SharePoint). Communicates with vendors and court staff regarding payment status, general inquiries or missing required documents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Serve as a primary point of contact for court personnel regarding invoice payments, reimbursements, purchase orders, travel reimbursement, and clarification on related policies and procedures• Analyze and validate service provider invoices and prepare vouchers; check for accuracy in coding, verify all proper documentation and approvals, etc.• Maintain source documents for preparing account payable vouchers• Follow-up and resolve issues with invoices, funding availability, validity of invoices, etc.• Primary resource working the Request-To-Purchase (RTP) site used internally to initiate purchasing request• Create and maintain Purchase Orders (POs).
