IPSC provides interoperable and reliable public safety communications systems to all Hoosier first responders and public safety professionals for use during routine, emergency, and task force situations. Our goal is to strengthen community safety and security by minimizing the financial and technological barriers to interoperable communications through interagency cooperation.Salary Statement:The salary for this position traditionally starts at $55,224.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:• Coordinates and facilitates timely repairs ensuring the availability of technology related systems and office equipment.• Ensures agency employees are equipped with the necessary wireless communications including cellular phones, pagers, PDA’s, etc.• Makes recommendations for purchases concerning data communications and telephony systems and equipment and services.• Participates in the development of communications and telephony technical standards and policies.• Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts;• Tests, adjusts and troubleshoots equipment.• Promotes the utilization of technical services to resolve business issues within the agency.• Participates in the development of communications and telephony requirements based on customer needs.• Serves as consultant to agency employees on how to use and program communications and telephony equipment.The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
