DMHA is committed to ensuring that clients have access to quality services that promote individual, family and community resiliency and recovery.The division also certifies all community mental health centers and addiction treatment services providers. DMHA operates six psychiatric hospitals (NeuroDiagnostic Institute, Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center, Evansville State Hospital, Logansport State Hospital, Madison State Hospital and Richmond State Hospital). DMHA provides funding support for mental health and addiction services to target populations with financial need and administers federal funds earmarked for substance abuse prevention projects.Salary:This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $47,320. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package: https://in.accessgov.com/spd/Forms/Page/spd/compensation-calculator/Role Overview:This role serves as the primary manager for The Community Catalyst Grant Program which aims to promote innovative, collaborative, and sustainable local and community-driven responses to mental health and substance use disorder issues. Recently established, this grant is part of the coronavirus response legislation, House Enrolled Act (HEA 1001), and provides funds to organizations that offer community-driven responses to mental health and substance use issues and focuses on one or more priority populations; BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Rural, Victims of domestic violence, youth who have experienced significant trauma, people who are or have been justice-involved. You will manage these grants, monitoring distribution, compliance, and all related reporting requirements and serve as the primary DMHA point of contact for awardees.A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:• Research and identify sources of external funds and create or develop proposals to secure funds for new grant opportunities and grant renewal opportunities.• Evaluate work plans and timelines to ensure submission of state or federal grant applications and program reports in a timely manner.• Provide guidance and assistance to staff and the community on the types of grants available, federal and agency requirements for obtaining grants, and the process of applying for grants.• Assist potential recipients in the grant application process making recommendations on possible changes, writing, and/or reviewing grant applications.• Review submitted grant applications and assess the applicant’s eligibility for award based on established criteria.• Make recommendations to supervisors and grant authority on the needs of potential recipients.• Analyze project costs and prepare budget justifications and budget revisions for awarded grants.• Monitor the implementation, management, evaluation, and close-out of grants according to rules and regulations.• Ensure a grantee’s compliance with the conditions of grants by coordinating agreements, contracts, expenses, activities, and federal and state regulations.The job profile is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
