Preston StreetBaltimore, MD 21201Main Purpose of JobThe main purpose of this position is to supervise and direct the work of the Budget Section within the Division of Budget, Accounting and Revenue, Office of Finance (OOF). The mission of the Budget Unit is to prepare accurate and timely budget compilations and projections on provider reimbursement costs and administrative costs for the Medical Care Programs. The Program Budget for FY2025 is in excess of $14 Billion total funds.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.Notes• Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.• Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.• Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for five years of the required experience.• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.Desired Or Preferred QualificationsThe desired candidate should possess the following:• Experience interpreting and applying or overseeing the application of agency policies, rules and regulations to accomplish the work of the unit or division• Experience supervising an employee (assign duties, monitor, prove training etc.)• Supervisory experience over accounts payable staff to ensure timely processing of invoices• Experience with preparing annual budgets and budget projections• Experience with cost allocation plans and monitoring expenditures are posted using the correct cost allocations• Experience with preparing journal entries to correct accounting errors• Experience with Microsoft Office SuiteLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONSEmployees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
