The agency utilizes many channels to provide taxpayers with financial information and resources. Advertisements, publications, website postings, and social media are among the many channels taxpayers use to obtain information. The Graphic Designer/Social Media Manager position equips the agency with the specialized skills and expertise to present information to internal and external stakeholders in a way that is meaningful, effective, visually appealing, and appropriately engaging.Please Note:Evening and weekend work may be periodically required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.Notes:Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.• * For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalence evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.html.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSix years of experience in public information, public relations, journalism, or other related experience in publicity or promotional workAbility to travel throughout the State of Maryland to attend public events with ComptrollerStrong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential, as this role requires direct interaction with the public and stakeholders through digital platformsExperience with social media management and developing social media content for multiple platformsCopywriting/writing skills for social media and promotional materials creationExperience with infographics and video design (Adobe, Canva, InDesign)Experience analyzing social media data and analytics for trends and to develop strategies to increase engagement and reachExperience managing high-level government or corporate social media accounts including planning, implementing strategic campaigns, and overseeing paid social media advertisingDemonstrated ability to engage positively and professionally with the public across various platforms, with a strong background in customer serviceLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONSEmployees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
