The Purpose of the Water Resources Division is the protection and enhancement of waters of the state (surface water and groundwater) for the benefit of present and future generations. This position ensures compliance with groundwater and surface water discharge authorizations by inspecting treatment systems, reviewing water quality data and referring for escalated enforcement as needed. Additional functions include oversite of Part 5, Spillage of Oil and Pollution Material for the Marquette District and providing response to pollution incidents.Position DescriptionEducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, engineering, environmental studies and sustainability, physical sciences, resource development, or resource management.ORPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: biochemistry, biology, botany, chemistry, crop and soil science, ecology, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, environmental studies and sustainability, forest management, geology, meteorology, microbiology, physics, remote sensing, resource development, resource management, toxicology, or zoology.ExperienceEnvironmental Quality Analyst 9No specific type or amount is required.Environmental Quality Analyst 10One year of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 9.Environmental Quality Analyst P11Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 10.ABOUT EGLE:The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE) mission is to protect Michigan's environment and public health by managing air, water, land, and energy resources.At the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, we are passionate about protecting human health and Michigan’s land, water, and energy resources.
