This position will conduct legal research, provide guidance, technical assistance and develop toolsand resources to identify and mitigate privacy risks focusing on opioid overdose and related initiatives and will focus on legaland ethical privacy issues regarding collecting, sharing, using and protecting data for public health purposes, includingaddressing determinants of health, improving population health, promoting health equity and research in opioid overdose andrelated initiatives.The individual will work with the Overdose Data to Action Grant team, the Department's privacy officers, data stewards, subjectmatter experts, and other members of the public health team to protect the privacy of the personally identifiable information (PII)the Department receives or collects and to facilitate legal and ethical use and sharing of PII data.This position may be eligible to participate in the Department's pilot telework program, which offers eligible employees theopportunity to work remotely for up to two (2) days per week, as approved by management.REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / LICENSES)EDUCATION:Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.)
