Job DescriptionThe Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is actively seeking a qualified individual with strong team coordination skills to assume the role of Chief Administrative Office Coordinator (Agency Information Security Officer I). The individual in this job coordinates agency efforts regarding records request denials, information access appeals, risk assessments, business plan development, training compliance, and CAO directed performance evaluations.Principle Duties:The Chief Administrative Office Coordinator is tasked with providing support to strategic initiative updates, tracking and monitoring the implementation of division business plans, and ensuring compliance with Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA). This position performs a variety of security and sensitive records tasks dedicated to safeguarding sensitive information, and supports the role of the Agency's Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).Example of Tasks• Ensure efficient, clear communication and handling of GRAMA appeals within the UDOT.• Monitor compliance with Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) appeals.• Coordinate CAO review of fee waivers or denial of records requests.• Develop, standardize, and prepare appeal-related briefings for CAO's review.• Coordinate legal counsel hearings and appeals as needed regarding GRAMA.• Coordinate calendars and schedule appointments relating to• appeals activities.• Monitor and track appeal-related touchpoints and milestone activities.• Summarize, log, and track end-point outcomes of appeal processes.• Schedule reviews in appeals process protocols.• Develop visual analytics on performance and risk items.• Assist in tracking compliance with agency policies and Utah State Code.• Prepare business plan operations analysis and reports.• Evaluate risk assessments and make recommendations for training or improvements.• Coordinate performance initiatives review and evaluations.• Support business plan development for Technology and Innovation Divisions.• Measure and track division improvements and accomplishments.The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have:• Experience related to information security and administrative compliance.• Prior work history ensuring compliance with state, federal, and agency standards regarding policies and guidelines.• Demonstrated abilities to maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to information requests, data reviews, GRAMA appeals, and agency reviews actions.• Strong technical understanding of information and the ability to review and write technical documents.• Experience identifying inappropriate activities, data requests, or records access.• Experience in development of business plans, updating strategic documents, and analyzing divisional performance metrics.Supplemental InformationHere is some additional information to be aware of:• Working Conditions - Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.• Physical Requirements - Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.• Employee may be reassigned to a different location as deemed necessary by the Region Director/Division Leader.Why Should You Join Our Team?The work we do matters.
