DSHS ESH Psychiatric Security NurseWe are building our team of LPN staff who have experience caring for people that have behavioral health conditions. The Psychiatric Security Nurse provides licensed practical nurse (LPN) care and safety oversight within the forensics unit of the treatment facility, Eastern State Hospital. Our patients are people with serious or long-term behavioral health conditions who count on us as they work toward healing and growth. Currently, we have multiple PSN scheduling opportunities including day, swing, and night shift, full-time or on-call.Through your great communication skills, you will develop long-term therapeutic relationships with patients. If the situation arises, you will safely and therapeutically intervene with patients utilizing assistance from your support team.Opportunities performed on site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.What you will do in this job:• Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll provide direct skilled nursing care to adults experiencing behavioral health issues• Participate in the treatment planning, administer medication, as well as implement and chart treatment interventions• Be a patient advocate for health maintenance and clinical care by monitoring conditions that may be detrimental to the care and treatment of your patientsWho should apply?• Possession of a current Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical NurseCondition of employment: Completion of safety training within 30 days of hireWant to know more about Eastern State Hospital?
