DSHS WSH SUDP Therapies Supervisor

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking an SUDP Therapies Supervisor to join our team at Western State Hospital (psychiatric hospital), Gage Center.As a Therapies Supervisor, you will supervise staff in the Substance Use Disorders (SUD) program, who perform assessment, engagement, and treatment of patients residing at the Western State Hospital, Gage Center. You'll ensure that evidence-based materials are used in the assessment and treatment of patients, documentation of services meets Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) standards, and is completed in a timely manner.You’ll supervise and train SUDP-T trainees under the Washington State Department of Health internship and licensing requirements. You’ll work with management to ensure patient care is timely and specific to treatment needs.The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.Some of what you’ll do• Ensure staff develop activities and engage patients to participate in SUD active treatment and assessment, individually and in group format• Ensure that staff have scheduled SUD specialized program activities each day and relay information through regularly scheduled team huddles• Oversee program improvements• Facilitate regular meetings• Evaluate to assess the best utilization of staff resources and evidence-based practices• Collaborate with treatment teams• Assist in hiring staff and oversee training• Develop and monitor standards for behavior and attendance• Participate on the Management Team and other committees; apprise management team of and actively engage in cross-discipline problem-solvingWho we’re looking forThose with a Substance Use Disorder Professional license who have:Nine years of professional experience in a therapy program, including two years in administration and direction of professional staff.OrA bachelor's degree involving major study in occupational therapy, physical therapy, hospital recreation, manual arts, vocational counseling, or psychiatric social work and five years of professional experience in a therapy program, including two years in administration and direction of professional staff.
