The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the assigned student behavior, providing correction and support as needed and ensuring for the student’s and other students’ safety. The work schedule for this position is:6:30pm-8:30pm Sunday10:00am-8:30pm Monday-Tuesday11:00am-8:30pm Wednesday-Thursday• Supervises and provides one-on-one support to assigned student.• Monitor student at all times and in all residential areas as well as the cafeteria, athletic events, off campus during WSD sponsored activities and outdoors.• Nurture and comfort the assigned student and other student to ensure their safety and well-being as assigned by the supervisor.• Providing instruction to students in all areas of emergency procedures.• Ensure confidentiality of records and information relating to students and employees.• Understanding and implementing assigned programming to meet the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development needs of student (i.e., assessments, behavior management and crisis intervention).• Ongoing assessment and documentation of student behavior and attendance at meetings as needed to recommend programming, discipline and crisis intervention.• Maintain ongoing communication with supervisors, parents, coworkers, academic staff, community and organizations.• Document and maintain communication books, staff reports and other communications as assigned.• Transport and supervise student to off-campus events and appointments.• Pick up students at school as determined by the supervisor.• Supervise student during after school program activities.• Read all email, reports and communication logs daily.• Supervise and assist student with homework.• Document student behaviors, incidents and/or information in logbook and/or level system book, complete the Daily Student Information form, and write behavior referrals and pupil information forms as needed.• Communicate any problems, concerns or information to supervisors and/or coworkers.• Ensure the cottage living areas are kept clean, neat and safe daily.• Monitor, counsel and assist student with their daily schedule and routine duties in an effort to facilitate student self-sufficiency.• Professional development and safety training tasks as assigned by the Director of Residential Services.• Other duties as assigned.• One school year experience working in an instructional group setting with children.• Experience working with students with behavioral support needs.• Fluency in American Sign Language.• Develop innovative ideas that provide solutions to all types of workplace challenges.• Logically integrate various ideas, intentions and information to form effective goals, objectives, timelines, action plans and solutions.• Effectively communicate information for the purpose of having others learn, understand, and apply specific principles, techniques, or information.CDHY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.The candidate selected for this position will be required to pass federal and state criminal background screening.This position includes representation option with the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability and life insurance depending on length of appointment.Please provide your resume, cover letter, and at least 3 professional references.Remote/Telework options are not available for this positionSalary information:This position is paid in accordance with the Washington General Government pay scale (Range 39) with eligibility for Dual Language 5%.The position is eligible for shift premium pay at an additional $2.50 per hour.For questions about this recruitment, or to request reasonable accommodation in the application process, please email the Human Resources office at recruitment@cdhy.wa.gov.
