The Audit division is looking for a Senior Revenue Auditors (RA3) across the state to join its team. Audit is a dedicated group of professionals committed to promoting voluntary tax compliance through educating taxpayers. This unique opportunity will do 50% RA3 Senior work and 50% Leasehold Excise Tax work.Candidate screening will begin as early as November 26, 2024, and the hiring authority may exercise the option to make a hiring decision at any time after. It will be to the applicant's advantage to submit materials as soon as possible.The salary listed for this position does not include the 5% premium pay for positions based in King County.Please review the opportunity details below and forward this message to others you feel may be qualified.As a Senior Auditor, you will perform audits of the largest or most technically diverse business organizations. You'll evaluate business activities and accounting records to determine if taxpayers are in compliance with tax laws and have correctly reported their tax liability. Additionally, you will independently exercise judgment on the audit process and tax issues with the capability to assess the audit risks involved. You will rely heavily on your knowledge of electronic accounting software to test, analyze and evaluate the taxpayer's accounting systems while defining the correct statistical sampling method.Here are some other duties you can expect:• Perform advanced statistical and non-statistical sampling of data.• Prepare detailed audit reports.• Manage audit processes.• Design audit plans for large audits while serving as a mentor to developing audit staff.• Assist others in resolving disputed audit adjustments.• Participate in agency initiatives providing technical expertise in development of tax policy, law, rule, and legislative development.Two (2) years of experience as a Revenue Auditor 2, plus four (4) years of professional accounting, tax compliance or tax examination experience.OREight (8) years of experience in accounting, banking, auditing, tax compliance or tax administrationORBachelor's degree with major study in accounting, plus two (2) years of experience as a Revenue Auditor 2ORBachelor's degree in business administration or closely allied field which includes 24 semester or 36 quarter hours of college-level accounting (may include credits from one (1) Business Law class), plus two (2) years of experience as a Revenue Auditor 2ORBachelor's or Graduate degree and is CPA Exam eligible, plus two (2) years of experience as a Revenue Auditor 2ORBachelor's or Graduate degree and is CPA Exam eligible, plus four (4) years of professional accounting, tax compliance or tax examination experience.To be considered:• Complete your online application.• Attach a resume.• Attach a cover letter explaining your interest and qualifications.• Attach transcripts showing required credits (disregard if you are a current DOR Revenue Auditor).• Note - Applications received without these materials may not be considered.Throughout our selection processes, we will also be evaluating for knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and capacity for effective leadership that aligns with the culture of DOR.To take advantage of Veteran's preference please attach your DD-214, member 4 long form, or your NGB-22.
