Experiences team is at the forefront of shaping the future of our digital ecosystem, ensuring that our digital touchpoints and tools are intuitive, engaging, and successful in helping our customers more efficiently engage with our business.We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior UI/UX Designer to join our Design and Research team to help guide our digital transformation efforts with modern digital practices.What You Will Be Doing:As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating user-centric designs for our digital experience portfolio. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including experience managers, developers, researchers and marketers, to translate user needs and business goals into engaging and seamless digital experiences.Key Responsibilities:Design Strategy & Planning : Develop and execute comprehensive design strategies that align with the company's vision and business objectives. Ensure consistency and cohesion in the user experience across all digital platforms, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and users.User Research & Analysis : Support user research, usability testing, and competitor analysis to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.UX Design : Develop user journey maps, personas, and flowcharts to inform design decisions and enhance the overall user experience. Focus on creating intuitive navigation, smooth interactions, and meaningful user experiences that address user needs and goals.Wireframing & Prototyping : Create detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to visualize and test design concepts. Use these prototypes to gather feedback and iterate on designs before final implementation.UI Design : Design visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications, adhering to brand guidelines and ensuring a consistent visual identity. Design visual elements, assets, and components that enhance the overall aesthetic and usability, all in alignment with our global brand standards.Design Systems : Develop, maintain, and evolve the company's design system, ensuring it aligns with brand guidelines and supports scalability across multiple products and platforms. Advocate for the use of the design system and provide guidance on its application.Collaboration : Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle. Participate in agile processes, such as sprint planning and reviews, to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.Feedback & Iteration : Gather feedback from users, stakeholders, and usability testing sessions to refine and iterate on designs. Use this feedback to continuously improve and align designs with user needs and business objectives.Networking & Mentorship : Build relationships with our broader UX community of practice (internally and externally), collaborate with cross-functional team members, and help mentor others to promote growth, awareness and innovation.Stay Current:Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and incorporate them into your work to maintain a cutting-edge approach. Participate in design communities and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills.Required Skills and Competencies:Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on digital products.Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and other relevant software.Strong understanding of UX principles, methodologies, and best practices.Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail and consistency.Experience with user research methods and usability testing.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to present and justify design decisions effectively.Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming design challenges.Able to manage projects simultaneously across multiple workstreams and teams and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Preferred Skills and Competencies:Experience working in a large, global product company.Familiarity with agile development process and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment.Familiarity with front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.Understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines.Active participation in the UI/UX community with a commitment to continuous learning through conference attendance, courses, and workshops.Who We Are:Steelcase is a global design and thought leader in the world of work.
