Hi, we’re Storygrounds! 

We are founded by a team of humans who have worked within entertainment and games for decades, and we have some thoughts. During our time within these worlds, we’ve come to realize the creative process is broken. Being story lovers through mediums such as games, comics, novels, and entertainment, has sparked a desire to bring the love of the story-telling process back to the communities who love them.

With these thoughts in mind, it helped us form some of our core beliefs:

To harness the creative power of communities to be productive together, with new, transparent ways of getting everybody compensated for their efforts.

Storygrounds was born from our desire to make collaborative storytelling easier, more fun, and super social. We want to provide communities with the tools to tell stories and build worlds together through webcomics.

Our mission is to build the best platform to empower anyone, regardless of skill level, to be creative. We want creators & fans of WAMMM (Webcomics, Anime, Manga, Manhwa, and Manhua) to feel like they have a voice & support in the creative process:

- As a fan, to be able to create a webcomic with creators they enjoy, while helping to shape their new favorite stories.

- As a creator, to be able to truly engage their reader/fan community(s) while bringing them into your creative process, leading to greater success.

- And for all, a much deeper bond between the creator and fan/reader community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a preface, we understand that applying to any role is a bit scary. From here onwards, read knowing that this is ideally what we want but what we are seeking is more than just a list.

We are currently seeking a Senior Webcomic Producer to join our Storygrounds team! This role is unique because the ideal candidate is someone who LOVES webcomics and has read their fair share of them while having a strong love for art & story production!

We believe the creation of stories has always been fluid, and the future of storytelling can be collaborative and fun! As a lover of narrative (and of course webcomics), we’re excited to add a team member who wants to join us in building a better place for webcomic lovers: creators & readers. <3

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Owning the production and development of multiple webcomics ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality content on our platform.
• Collaborating with the Lead Producer to establish and continuously optimize webcomic pipelines and processes.
• Working closely with multiple webcomic creators to set the process and schedule of their deliverables. 
• Implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes to review the output of each webcomic and providing constructive feedback to maintain and elevate overall content quality standards. 
• Acts as a creative problem solver, addressing production challenges and proposing efficient solutions to and for content, team, creators, and pipelines.
• Utilizes internally created tools to maintain each webcomic, such as uploading episodes, publishing quests, and more. 
• Creating, organizing, and maintaining an organizational file structure and database for each webcomic/creator and associated assets within Google Drive (and/or relevant platforms).
• Working closely with the product and marketing teams on shared initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a HUGE fan of Webcomics (ex. Webtoon, Tapas, Tappytoons).
• 4+ years of experience within webcomics, comics, and/or games as a Producer, Art Producer, Content Producer, or equivalent.
• A strong and effective communicator who can navigate between multiple creators and internal teams, especially in a remote setting. 
• Flexible and agile.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to jump from project to project, giving equal attention to all.
• Logistically strong and process-oriented.
• A strong collaborator and problem solver, who can identify problems and empower their creatives with reasonable delivery-oriented solutions.
• Enjoys interacting and coordinating with multiple individuals.
• An interest in learning & understanding new technologies.
• Google Suite (ex. Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slide)
• Ability to work autonomously, while setting agendas, and prioritizing work with minimal input.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience working in an early-stage startup, or similar environments.
• Your webcomic genre of choice is romance, action, and/or fantasy. 
• Also a love for manga, anime, and/or storytelling.
• Experience in 360 global production. Namely: web, interactive, games, print, and product including transcreation and experience working with international/remote teams and stakeholders. 
• Tools: CMS (ex. Jira, Asana, Monday, or similar), Notion, Slack
• Ability to quickly edit/alter minor things in Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar (ex. Fixing typos, cropping an image, etc.) 
• An interest in the ethical use of genAI technologies.

$80,000 - $120,000 a year

The above salary range only captures the approximate market rates within the USA, as well as our budget for this position. The final base compensation will consider additional factors such as the location of work (candidates outside of the USA are welcome), living costs, and of course, the interview itself.
