Strategic Data Systems is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Data Analytics team, including personnel management information systems and data cleansing for service member HR data. The scope of the effort is for data processing, visualization, identifying data discrepancies from legacy systems, and working with stakeholders to resolve personnel and organizational data.

Responsibilities include:

•       Systems development activities include data table/structure design, data acquisition, system specifications, data validation and documentation.

•       Business Analyst support will also include development of data interface specifications, on-line query and report specifications, database load specifications, and data validation specifications.

•       Customer support, including interfacing with stakeholders, trouble shooting, Service-member data review and analysis and problem resolution.

To qualify, you will need:

•       An Active DOD Secret Security Clearance

•       High School Diploma and three (3) or more years of related experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Data Science preferred, but other related fields considered; valid certificates in Data Analytics, Data Science, or IT are highly considered.

•       Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

•       Knowledge of analytical tools and evaluation techniques

•       Experience using Tableau or Power BI for data visualization

•       Knowledge of relational database management systems

•       Skill in writing and analyzing structured query language (SQL) queries

•       Knowledge in programming and scripting with Python or R

•       Ability to apply analytical skills relating to database management and development

•       Experience in data validation

•       Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

•       Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for required customer support and requirements gathering and validation

•       Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

•       Prior military experience is a plus

•       Familiarity with Navy systems such as (but not limited to) EMPRS, DJMS, NP2, NSIPS, etc.

•       Former Navy PS rating experience preferred but not required
