About the role
Morning Brew’s Strategy & Operations team works with leadership and cross-functional teams to enable the company’s short and long-term business goals. We are seeking an MBA intern for the summer of 2022 to drive and support mission-critical initiatives.
Morning Brew is based in New York City but this role is remote-friendly for all candidates.
Our 2022 summer internships begin on June 1st and finish August 12th. Interns are expected to work 40 hours a week, and be available for the duration of the internship.
What you'll do:
- Manage projects to help Morning Brew reach its near- and long-term business goals; projects may include market assessment, product strategy and development, quantitative opportunity sizing, and organizational design.
- Assist with strategic annual planning and subsequent quarterly goal setting and tracking, ensuring codification and focus on company’s biggest bets.
- Work with leaders across partner teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Data, Advertising) to implement relevant recommendations
- Provide rigorous quantitative analysis and reporting to company and department leaders that shape their perspectives and influence departmental and cross-company plans
About you
- Currently enrolled in MBA program (Earliest graduation date December 2022)
- You are able to complete a 10-12 week, full-time virtual internship
- 3-5+ years of pre-MBA work experience. Bonus if that experience comes from media or a fast-growth startup environment.
- Excellent communication/collaboration skills: role involves building strong relationships across the organization and communicating/presenting ideas clearly to the executive leadership team
- You have a strong problem-solving track record – you’re able to think critically through unique problems with no set playbook and quickly implement a path to a solution, and you can toggle effortlessly between big picture strategy and in-the-weeds tactical problem-solving
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience breaking down complex problems into pieces that can be solved with data, analysis, and clear assumptions
- A love for media and shaping its future.
