Strategy Communications Coordinator

Janney’s Investment Strategy Group (“ISG”) is seeking a Strategy Communications Coordinator. The candidate will report to the Chief Investment Strategist of Janney and interact with other strategy professionals at the firm. The candidate will be expected to adapt and produce commentaries and reports developed in conjunction with Janney strategy professionals to help broaden readership and expand the distribution network across various mediums.

What you are good at:
  • Organization and Time Management: Possessing the ability to take on multiple requests at once and effectively complete tasks in a time efficient manner.
  • Initiative: Proactively identify opportunities to take ownership of the editorial process.
  • Team-Oriented: Collaborating with team members and other departments across the organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with the strategy professionals in ISG for production of investment strategy/asset management content.
  • Synthesize the strategists’ research effectively and communicate major points.
  • Act as liaison to Janney’s marketing and corporate communications team.
  • Provide consumable communication for Janney’s Financial Advisors.
  • Provide centralized content coordination and management for all internal, public, and client-facing commentary provided by ISG.
  • Manage multiple publications across an integrated communications platform; manage to tight and often evolving deadlines while following regulatory compliance review procedures.
  • Help set editorial priorities and propose ideas to enhance both groups communications strategy.
  • Strive to improve and/or introduce collateral brochures, reports, web copy, and other materials that supports the expansion of the ISG market presence.
  • Maintain accuracy and standards and ensure adherence to corporate style guidelines.
What you have:
  • 2-3 years’ experience in writing and editing in the financial services industry and familiarity with investment terms and concepts.
  • Be capable of working on multiple projects and assignments to prioritize and meet deadlines and adapt to writing to the brand or author’s voice.
  • Be professional, enthusiastic, and have excellent communication skills.
  • A strong journalism or communications background with editing skills that make technical or sophisticated commentary understandable by a variety of audiences.
  • Be savvy in editing for digital distribution and have proficient skills in desktop publishing software.
  • Possess the ability to work with colleagues at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Be self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work on projects with minimal oversight.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
