The DEI & Employee Experience Program Manager will partner with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion & Employee Experience leader, People & Talent teams, leadership, managers, communications partners, and Employee Resource Group (ERG) leaders to carry out our Antiracism (AR) and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) priorities. You will also help us foster camaraderie, joy, and belonging and support a positive employee experience among our distributed team. The right candidate is able to successfully plan, prioritize, manage, and coordinate efforts and resources to best execute our commitments and build a culture of inclusion and belonging. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco and will report to the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion & Employee Experience. 

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

  • Partner with the Director, DEI & Employee Experience to refine and implement our ERG strategy to help teammates build community and increase their overall sense of belonging
  • Help develop ERG leaders providing them with the training, tools, and resources to effectively lead their respective groups and grow professionally
  • Strategically advise ERG leaders and partner with them to develop strategies, action plans, and programs to foster a sense of community and belonging
  • Manage the overall execution of ERG programs, events, and initiatives, including planning, program and project management, coordination of logistics, and operational support
  • Develop internal and external diversity, culture, and heritage communications, focusing on building awareness and providing tactical ways for teammates to actively demonstrate their dedication and allyship

Sponsorships, Partnerships, Conferences and Summits

  • Partner with the Director of DEI and Director of Talent to develop a DEI conferences and events strategy to support Strava’s goal of building more representative teams
  • Contribute to our diversity hiring efforts by managing strategic partnerships with HBCUs, HSIs, and diversity partner organizations, positioning Strava for success
  • Connect ERGs with strategic diversity organizations and partners to help with development, engagement, and talent branding efforts
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key external partners to understand and nurture programming opportunities, develop recommendations, and identify new opportunities for partnership
  • Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of internal summits and participation in external conferences and events

Employee Experience & Events

  • Collaborate with key internal partners to deliver employee-centric programs and events that build culture, connection, camaraderie, and help with employee engagement
  • Provide end-to-end management of events and programs to support connection, camaraderie, and efficiency of our distributed teammates
  • Build relationships and trust with our distributed (in-office, remote, and International teammates) to be their support system and ensure they feel connected to the broader team
  • Help make strategic decisions around employee gifting and swag

Program Management & Operations

  • Monitor strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives and make improvement and enhancement recommendations that are supported by data and clear decision criteria
  • Help manage overall DEI & Employee Experience operations and programmatic duties as assigned (e.g., Budget Tracking & Management, Vendor Setup, Contract Approval Process, AR/DEI Learning Administration, etc.)
  • Partner with key internal teammates across the People, Finance, Legal, Communications, and business teams to ensure programs and initiatives follow appropriate policies and procedures
  • Take on a growth mindset and find opportunities to increase your overall knowledge, awareness, and understanding of key DEI topics, trends, and known strategies

We’re excited about you because:

  • Experience in DEI and Employee Experience program management, especially ERG program management
  • Diversity initiative experience, including prior experience working with various diversity organizations, sponsors, and/or partners
  • Experience planning and managing campus recruiting events, especially at HBCUs and HSIs
  • Experience planning, managing, and coordinating the logistics for small to medium-sized events
  • Experience using data to influence leaders, make decisions, and drive strategy
  • Experience developing and managing strong partnerships with key internal and external partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Great project management skills with demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and communicate
  • Ability to effectively develop, manage, and implement programs and initiatives
  • Ability to think innovatively and act independently in a changing environment
  • Prior work experience within a fast-paced, matrixed environment
