About the Position


Student Account Analyst performs financial and operational research and account analyses of student accounts to ensure students’ billing invoices align with the terms and provisions of any enrollment, tuition assistance or other agreements that affect students’ invoices. Additionally, an individual audits various reports to ensure compliance with University policies and regulatory guidelines. A Student Account Analyst prepares daily accounting reconciliations, processes payments and refunds, and prepares various accounting transactions in accordance with University policy and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).


What You’ll Do:


1. Produce routine and/or ad-hoc reports, using data extraction techniques, to audit student accounts and identify any required adjustments, including verification and application of tuition reduction benefits when applicable. Identify discrepancies and perform necessary research/analysis to determine appropriate resolution. Ensure timely, accurate and compliant daily reconciliation of all accounts.

2. Analyze account information to calculate correct charges, adjustments and/or refunds in alignment with University policy, Master Service Agreement conditions, and applicable regulations. Prepare related accounting transactions and ensure timely and accurate completion on a daily basis.

3. Manage payment receipt via lockbox management, ACH and wire transactions, Collection Agency payments, credit card transactions, and bank reconciliations.

4. Interpret government documents and provide clarification to internal and external entities.

5. Create and/or update standard operating procedures in accordance with University policies, GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and/or other regulatory/compliance requirements, as applicable.

6. Provide support to internal and external stakeholders.

7. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of experience in a role, such as accounts payable/receivable, that required knowledge and use of basic accounting skills and analysis

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Two (2) years of general accounting experience
  • Knowledge of financial / accounting concepts (GAAP)
  • Strong Excel skills, including a working knowledge of an array of Excel formulas, as well as working knowledge of a variety of financial software/platforms, such as Oracle Financials, Oracle Vocado, Salesforce, MS Teams, SharePoint
  • Experience with SQL and Dataload
  • Able to research and analyze data and draw conclusions
  • Good time management and prioritization attributes
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external customers via a variety of communication channels
  • Understanding of and able to communicate using standard financial terms
  • Able to successfully work in a very time sensitive role with a high degree of accuracy to ensure compliance and regulatory deadlines must be met
  • Possess high work standards and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, customer/client focus, and teamwork

The annual pay range for this position is $37100 (minimum), $51800 (midpoint), and $66500 (maximum).*

Pay Range

The hourly pay rate range is $17.84 (minimum), $24.90 (midpoint), and $31.97 (maximum). The annualized amount, not including eligible overtime pay, is $37100 (minimum), $51800 (midpoint), and $66500 (maximum).*

  • Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.
