Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. The hospital is comprised of 545 beds and is a Level I Trauma Center, an Emergency Heart Care Station and a 911 Receiving Hospital. It is the premiere health care organization for key areas such as Surgery, Cardiology, Women's Health, Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal and Mental Health Services.

Under direct supervision, participates in a temporary position which provides employment experience at a level commensurate with educational background in a variety of work modalities. Tasks are designed to develop the skills, technique, and knowledge necessary to function in the delivery and operations of health care services, administration, support, and allied programs
1. Receives experience in the operations and delivery of a health care service and support and administrative programs which may include but are not limited to nursing services, clerical/administrative functions, office functions, laboratory work, dietary service, environmental service, central office functions, and technical, professional and scientific disciplines.
2. Assists in the performance of activities and tasks which are applicable to the programs and areas stated above.
Level I:
Students entering freshman year through the completion of senior year of college.
Level II:
Students entering graduate or professional studies (beyond a Bachelors degree) and subsequent years of study.
