Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Robert H Smith School of Business, Office of Smith IT is seeking Student Help Desk Technician to provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students. The successful candidate will respond to inquiries/requests, diagnose and resolve technical problems, and provide support for computer systems, software applications, printing, and network connectivity.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, and students regarding computer hardware, software, printer, and network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to computer systems, software applications, printers, and network connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software applications.
  • Provide support for the University and Smith School applications, hardware, networks, and printers.
  • Provide training to faculty, staff, and students on using technology resources.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information and data.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions in the ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
This position is only upen to undergraduate students currently enrolled at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
  • Familiarity with Windows and Apple operating systems
  • Experience with network troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Willingness to work flexible hours between 8:30 AM-5:00 PM Monday through Friday
