Senior - Recruitment Consultant

About the Role

At Substance, we partner with forward-thinking recruitment agencies that recognize the value of experienced consultants. We're hiring for Senior Recruitment Consultant roles across the SEA Region that offer real autonomy, high-earning potential, and a platform where top performers aren’t held back by red tape or outdated processes.

This is a chance to step into a role where your experience is respected, your voice is heard, and your career progression is based on impact—not time served.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Take ownership of your market. You’ll run your desk like it’s your own business—developing client relationships, managing accounts, and delivering results.
  • Build strong candidate pipelines. You’ll know where to find top talent and how to engage them with meaningful opportunities.
  • Deliver for existing clients. Many of our partners have warm roles and established accounts ready for someone to take over and grow.
  • Drive new business. You’ll be expected to develop and win new clients.
  • Mentor junior consultants. Depending on the agency, you may support newer team members through training, coaching, or informal leadership.
  • Be commercially minded. Everything you do should tie back to business impact—whether that’s revenue growth, client retention, or team success.

What We Expect

  • 4+ years of 360 recruitment experience.
  • Proven billings. You’ve hit targets, closed deals, and have the numbers to back it up.
  • Confident with clients. You can pitch, negotiate, push back, and build trust at a senior level.
  • Self-driven. You don’t need handholding or micromanagement—you take ownership and get things done.
  • Strong candidate engagement. You know how to build talent networks and keep good candidates warm.
  • Commercially sharp. You understand recruitment is a business, and you act like it.
  • Team player. Even if you’re flying solo on deals, you support your team and want to win together.

Why This Role?

  • Real earning potential. High commission and the ability to significantly grow your desk = serious money.
  • Zero fluff. The agencies we partner with aren’t bogged down in endless admin or pointless KPIs—you get the space to focus on what actually drives results.
  • Career mobility. Want to move into management? Specialize deeper? Go international? You’ll have options, not obstacles.
  • You’ll be heard. In these businesses, senior consultants shape the culture and direction, not just follow orders.

At Substance, we’re all about action, not just talk. If your profile aligns with what we need, you’ll hear from us within 1-2 weeks. If not, no fluff—just know we value your interest and will keep you in mind for future roles where your skills can make an impact. We focus on real connections and meaningful matches, so when the right opportunity comes, we’ll be ready to make it happen.
