Job Summary:
The Double Sided Polishing Machine Operator operates manufacturing process equipment in our technology product (wafer) finishing process. The Operator ensures that priorities are met, the highest quality product is sent to the customers and all work is done as a team in a safe and clean environment.
Description of Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Exercise product (wafer) handling skills that prevent loss of product due to carelessness.
- Complete batch divide process steps as needed.
- Load and unload wafers into double sided polishing tools
- Stage incoming work as needed
- Process product through the post double sided polish cleaning bench
- Data entry into Excel spreadsheets and system (GIP)
- Enter process directions into the production tool computers
- Continuous and accurate data collection and input
- Maintain 5S protocol
- Continuous housekeeping of process tools and immediate area floor and wall space
- Perform visual product inspection, including both front and back side of product
- Perform equipment changes on tools as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Position requires English speaking and reading skills; process documents can be read and instructions can be understood
- High level of teamwork and cooperation
- Position requires the ability to strictly follow safety requirements at all time
- Understanding of basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are required
- Requires a high level of self-initiative, desire to learn and be effective
- Detailed oriented with the ability to listen and pay close attention
- Ability to use manufacturing process equipment, PC and peripherals (printer, scanner), basic hand tools, cleaning supplies and equipment
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing process preferred
- Prior clean room experience preferred
- Semiconductor industry experience a plus but not required
Physical Demands:
- Standing/ Walking frequently during shift
- Handling wafers constantly
- Lifting, pushing, pulling 25-50 lbs occasionally
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching occasionally
Work Environment:
- General manufacturing and clean room environment
- Work room can be noisy with multiple pieces of machinery operating at the same time
· Working with toxic or caustic chemicals daily
· The continuous use of factory provided uniforms and special factory shoes are required. Anyone entering a clean room is required to wear full Class 10 Cleanroom outfits, inclusive of snoods, masks, bunny suits, boots and gloves for several hours at a time
Additional Items:
- Must be flexible with scheduling. Although this is generally a set schedule, there will be business needs that dictate some shift changes and overtime.
- Use of factory provided uniforms and special factory shoes are required. Additionally, some roles will be requirement to wear full Class 10 Cleanroom outfit (inclusive of snoods, masks, bunny suits, boots and gloves) at times for this role.
