Project Coordinator - Core Engineering Department

SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office.  Although located at SEWS – Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work.  Associates are required to work at least two days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.  
 
 
Basic Purpose:
 
  • Core Engineering - Project Coordinator
  • Advance component arrangement to prevent material shortage and delay manufacturing
  • Design data control (BOM and EEAU)
 
 Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Communication with suppliers to have proper information and material on time. (Specialty cable, connector configuration, new component sample)
  2. PO timing control (PO from AP, MC or purchasing) and support material expedite action if required. Work with core engineering to define proper material timing and review/discuss it with procurement team.
  3. Support launch activity, summarize concern material status and provide information to CFT, including customer.
  4. Maintain engineering samples. Sample include materials to support urgent manufacturing demands to avoid line down. (example: 10m squib assembly, all open configuration)
  5. Engineering and MC/procurement communication bridge. Issue tracking to close all issues between engineering and procurement team.
  6. BOM review - Monthly HBS BOM analysis, EEAU change investigation, provide latest data to procurement team.
  7. Data management for all material changes. Smart Sheet - Engineering Component DB, Wire DB, Specialty cable list, Configuration connector list
  8. Contact suppliers and obtain their new technology, to find opportunity for design optimization and profit improvement with Procurement Group.
  9. Obtain documents from suppliers (spec sheet, handling manual, 3D data and so on) as per the request from core engineering.
  10. Potential obsolete material investigation, list up changed material between MYs and provide information to core engineering for review.                                
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 3-5 years progressive experience
