Job Description
This is a temporary position. The candidate will assist in providing support in a variety of projects in the department. He or she will be able to complete tasks in a timely and quality manner with less supervision. Must have strong organizational skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Job Description:
The intern position candidate will do research in the area of cybersecurity, especially the vulnerability and unintended emergent behavior detection in 5G and nextG communications; machine learning-based application and optimization in ORAN architecture; interdisciplinary research leveraging secure, high-performance, and resilient wireless technologies at various verticals, including healthcare, CV2X, etc. The other research areas include but are not restricted to IoT integrity, telehealth, and decision support systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
The summer intern will
  • Perform independent research and experiments on cybersecurity, cross-layer wireless communications, and interdisciplinary research in various verticals;
  • Collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory performing research in similar areas;
  • Prepare journal manuscripts for publication and present the work at conferences;
Minimum Experience/Education:
Bachelor or Master Degree in an appropriate field.
Required Qualifications:
  • Research passion in one or more of the following areas: wireless communications, cyber security, software-defined radio/networks, machine learning
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
