The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) supports youth and community services through contracts with a broad network of community-based organizations throughout New York City. Our central task is administering available city, state, and federal funds to a wide range of innovative, practical, and quality programs that positively impact youth and communities.
The Summer Rising provides free, safe, and fun academic and enrichment program for NYC students currently in grades K-8. All programs offer academic support, arts, recreation, and social-emotional support. Summer Rising Field Supervisors are expected to monitor the performance of programs, documenting areas of success as well as those requiring corrective measures and immediate attention. In addition to summer site monitoring, the Summer Rising Supervisor will observe activities, review administrative documents, and attend special events as needed. The Field Supervisor will need to understand program standards and protocols and evaluate whether compliance has been met. The Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is seeking Field Supervisors to:
- conduct site visits and monitor program throughout the City in-person.
- provide administrative support to program staff to ensure quality, safety and adherence to all policies
and regulations The Field Supervisor’s major responsibilities consist of:
- extensive daily travel to “monitor/conduct” site assessments throughout all five boroughs. Metro-cards
will be made available.
- clearly documenting/reporting program implementation as well as findings, accurately using the agency
evaluation process.
- navigating public transportation to conduct field evaluations and assessments
- conducting visits in all weather conditions Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- perform daily administrative functions as related to working in an office- which may include but are not
limited to data entry, answering phones, and using data systems
- tracking of program components and activities
- submit site monitoring reports to program supervisors and management teams identifying matters in
need of immediate attention
This position is in-person, and schedules may also include Remote and Hybrid assignments
