Overview of the Role

In this operational role, you’ll be performing tasks and analyzing data that is essential to keep the heart of our renewable energy commodity trading business beating strong. In doing this work, you’ll get valuable exposure to a variety of interesting areas in a fast growing clean energy industry.

You will primarily operate the processes required to get customers set up to trade renewable energy certificates. While most of the work will require the execution of essential tasks and groundwork, you will be expected to be proactive in solving problems, making improvements, and contributing in your unique way to the business. Because you’ll be helping to operate the company, you’ll be active in shaping its operations as we grow.

You’ll work alongside the entire team to constantly improve the experience for our customers and partners. You will learn how to prototype process and software improvements using various low-code application platforms. You’ll get to see how your work helps real people every single day.

Everyone at the company occasionally calls or emails with customers to figure out an issue. Though it will not be the primary focus, your role will involve some of this, too. It will help you constantly learn about the customer experience and discover how the processes you run can be improved.

You:

·       Love well-designed processes and systems

·       Love data and sometimes dream about beautiful database design

·       Think that spreadsheets, at their best, can be powerful (and even a little fun)

·       Enjoy people and are an excellent communicator

·       Have a strong inclination for systems thinking, process modeling, and data modeling

·       Are always excited to learn new tools, software, and technology

·       Are a detailed thinker and borderline perfectionist (but like in a healthy way, you know?)

You Will:

·       Take ownership of detailed business processes and keep them operating smoothly

·       Curate data in databases

·       Fill out forms and process customer requests

·       Work in tandem with regulatory agencies to troubleshoot issues

·       Collaborate with members of the team to design stuff

·       Prototype new or improved processes using low-code application platforms

·       Be challenged to grow in professional skills and also supported to thrive as a whole person

·       Perform limited direct customer outreach via phone and email

·       Probably have to deal with some pretty nasty or annoying issues that will require more copy/pasting than desired, script writing, and trying lots of things out that don’t work

·       Be OK with the last bullet point because you also get to fix the processes that caused the headaches and will be stoked about that

Salary & Benefits

Expected salary range: $75,000-85,000, commensurate with experience.

Location and Hybrid Work

RECmint is part of the Sun Tribe Group of solar companies. Our shared HQ is in Charlottesville, VA on the historic downtown mall. Our team is based both in Charlottesville and Richmond, and we’re open to candidates who reside in either city.

You’ll be expected to be in the office, at most, 2-3 days per week during the first 3-6 months for onboarding and once weekly thereafter, with some weeks not at all.
