The Operations Command Center Specialist Position


Sunnova Energy is searching for for an Operations Command Specialist for our Maintenance and Service group. Sunnova owns and maintains a distributed fleet of residential solar systems across 20+ states and several U.S. territories.  All monitoring and inbound customer service calls are handled in-house, and we utilize third-party service partners to complete all field work required. The Operations Command Specialist will be responsible for receiving and recording field service activities, including creating work orders, dispatching work orders, receiving reports, reviewing reports, logging activities, maintaining accrual records, processing field service invoices and providing reports on field service activities.  The Specialist will also be supporting O&M activities to maintain the performance of the asset fleet, track conformance to contractual obligations, prioritize dispatch for maximum efficiency, schedule appointments, optimize technician schedules and provide reports on field service activities.


Operations Command Center Specialist Responsibilities
  • Analyze production information to confirm system performance is as expected.
  • Create, dispatch, and manage work orders to meet company SLAs.
  • Assign service teams and technicians based on existing business rules to optimize efficiency, reduce cost, and reduce time to issue resolution
  • Update accounting accruals for completed work orders
  • Diagnose and identify remedies for solar systems requiring maintenance, service, or updates.
  • Identify causes of non- or under-performing systems.
  • Maintain accurate appointment book
  • Manage technician occupancy and daily schedule to ensure full utilization while managing overtime through a combination of customer appointment and non-appointment work order assignment
  • Receive and process field service reports from internal and external service providers according to established processes and procedures
  • Review and process field service invoices
  • Review service reports returning from the field for acceptable work completion and issue resolution.
  • Schedule appointments directly with customers


Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma (or GED) is a minimum requirement.
  • 2+ field service coordination or remote troubleshooting experience in
  • related position.
  • PC skills: Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, & Outlook required 


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Dispatch, scheduling, or customer service experience
  • Hands on solar or electrical experience preferred.
  • Salesforce.com experience preferred.
  • Strong home construction or residential electrical knowledge preferred.

  • Ability to work as a team member and interact with other departments
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict time deadlines
  • Administrative or customer service experience
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Working Conditions
