The Regional Retail Manager Position  


Sunnova Energy is searching for Sr. Regional Manager to be responsible for managing the Sales team in the Houston Metro division. The Sr. Regional Manager will assist in managing sales goals, training personnel and monitor performance of the sales teams. Also, will provide coaching and mentoring to the sales team. 


 


Regional Retail Manager Responsibilities  


Qualifying Prospects for Solar 


Generates demand and appointments in Solar sales. 


Manages the Territory Management and Assignment of sales teams 


Delivers Training and Coaching for the team 


Recruit and retain top sales talents in the industry. 


Interviews candidates and make hiring decisions 


Develops and manages the performance of the sales team 


Monthly Team Sales Quota: 60 Sales 


 

Additional Responsibilities


Customer Engagement: Coach Retail Energy Advisors on high customer engagement to secure high value leads that lead to high sales conversion.  


Needs Assessment: Perform high level energy assessments to understand customers' energy usage, preferences, and savings goals to prepare customer for meeting with consultant. 


Education & Guidance: Educate Retail Energy Advisor on solar energy benefits, equipment, installation process, and overall Sunnova value propositions. Coach Advisors how to talk through solar solutions, explaining the system's impact on energy costs, Sunnova financing options, and overall technical setup to educate the consumer on overall next steps. 


Pipeline Management: Act as a conduit between the Retail Energy Advisor and the Retail consultant to deliver organized communication to ensure smooth customer sales experience and highest chance to close the sales appointment process.  


Customer Satisfaction: Maintain strong communication with Retail Energy Advisors throughout the process, address concerns, and aim to exceed expectations. 


Team Collaboration: Work with internal teams including marketing, customer service, and technical support to ensure smooth onboarding and high customer satisfaction. 


 


Requirements: 


Experience in Sales: Minimum of 2 years in solar sales or a related field, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. 


Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with video conferencing and virtual tools. 


Customer-Oriented Mindset: Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experience and a consultative approach to lead generation that lead to high sales conversion. 


Technical Understanding: Basic knowledge of solar energy systems, energy storage, and home energy needs. 


Organizational Skills: Ability to manage Salesforce, track leads, and stay on top of follow-ups. 


Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to address customer concerns, troubleshoot issues, and provide clear guidance. 


Adaptability: Comfort with a fast-paced and evolving industry, adaptable to new products and procedures. 


 

Preferred Qualifications: 


Experience with solar software platforms (e.g., Solar Design Tools, Aurora Solar). 


Knowledge of financing options for solar installations, including PPA, leasing, and loans. 


Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are a plus. Experience in residential solar sales is required. 


 


Minimum Requirements 


Highschool Diploma/GED  


5+ years’ related Sales experience 


2+ Inside Sales experience 


0-2+ years’ Management/Supervisory Experience 


 


Preferred Qualifications 


Experience in residential solar is required 


Bachelor’s Degree in related field 


Bilingual a plus

Accurate Data Entry and Management 


Great In-person and over-the-phone Sales Conversation Skills, such as actively listening and feel/felt/found objection handling with the Retail Energy Advisors 


Consultative sales skills to coach team of Retail Energy Advisors 


Solar and Battery Design knowledge 


Accurately Forecasting Business on Monthly Cadence 


Ability to recruit, train and retain sales talent on the team. 


Ability to create salesforce report and dashboards focusing on team KPIs 


Ability to develop and deliver tailored training programs  


 


Working Conditions 


Open-office environment and/or Remote-office environment 


Estimated travel time: 40-50% 


Driving Required: Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record 


 


Physical Requirements 


Extended periods of time working at computer workstation
