Inside Sales Account Manager - Industrial Distribution

The Inside Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by managing relationships with existing clients and acquiring new customers through effective communication and sales strategies.  This role involves understanding customer needs, presenting tailored solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.  The Inside Sales Account Manager works closely with other departments, such as marketing and customer service to deliver a seamless experience for clients.  Key responsibilities include outbound sales calls, pipeline management, order/quote entry, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.


Essential Functions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts and prospective clients.
  • Outbound sales calls promoting SunSource products and services.
  • Identify customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and track progress towards sales goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create targeted campaigns and promotions.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales process.
  • Prepare and deliver sales reports and forecasts to management.


Experience, Education and Skills
  • H.S. Diploma or GED required, Associate degree or better preferred.
  • 5+ years of customer service, sales and/or purchasing experience in a Manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience in Industrial Distribution or similar industry is preferred (Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Fluid Power, Electrical, Power Transmission, Motors, and Motion Control)
  • Proficient with software programs including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, E-mail and vendor pricing programs
  • Ability to learn and work within a CRM system is required, working experience with Trend (CRM) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Mechanical aptitude is helpful in learning the products and applications.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
