Job Description


Elbit Systems of America, LLC is looking to fill a Supply Chain Internship. We are looking for students seeking a challenging intern position that provides a real-world perspective of supply chain in the Aerospace and Defense industry. This opportunity will provide interns exposure to multiple facilities of the supply chain department to obtain a holistic perspective. Interns must have the ability to meet deadlines and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously within the Supply Chain Department.

Purchasing/ Subcontracts

  • Run daily/weekly metric reports
  • Assist in Supplier Set up
  • Annual forms – setting up FTP site
  • Shipping transactions
  • UOM validation for open orders
  • Assist in expediting needed materials by working directly with the suppliers to eliminate down time due to part shortages.
  • Assist A/P, and S/C with invoice issues, to recognize discounted payment terms via early payment opportunities, and avoid late payments/penalties.
  • Assist in the processing of supplier returns, to include all aspects of the RMA process, to ensure timely returns of defective materials to suppliers, and affiliates.
  • Assist Buyers/Subcontracts in PO preparation, maintenance, and supplier management.
  • Analyze, and execute open order reports, and reschedule messages.
  • Gain Experience relating to the FAR/DFAR and CPSR requirements associated to purchasing materials for government contracts.
  • Experience firsthand the Supply Chain processes as they relate to the DOD contracts environment.

Warehouse/Logistics

  • Coordinate correspondence from Trade Compliance and Freight Forwarder on international shipments
  • Process Expedite requests from Program Management to Freight Forwarder on items needing expedited delivery to Fort Worth
  • Coordinate weekly transportation from Freight Forwarder on weekly deliveries to Customer

Planning

  • Assist Value Stream Team in Aged WIP Clean Up activities, including locating, and closing out aged WIP.
  • Work with Supply Chain Team to close out open OSP orders to the coating houses
  • Assist Supply Chain Team in Project Close out-Activities, such as inventory disposition, PCA close out actions, and purchase order close out.
  • Assist Planners with year-end close out activities

Supplier Management

  • Validate vendor quality paperwork
  • Initiate and track to completion supplier corrective actions for poorly performing suppliers.

Qualifications


Education:

  • Sophomore or Junior student currently enrolled in a college or university degree program related to Supply Chain.

Training Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position):

  • ESD
  • Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required (Unique and Measurable):

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment handling multiple assignments.
  • MS Office products (Proficient-Excel, PP, Word)
  • Articulate, adaptable, strong inter-personal skills, deadline/detail orientated
  • Minimum GPA- 3.0

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in office environment with some exposure to elements of weather when traveling and/or commuting between buildings.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Requires lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Requires physical effort associated with standing/walking/sitting.
  • Requires the ability to reach above shoulder height in accomplishing job tasks.
  • Requires the use of either or both hands for grasping items, manual dexterity is required, and the ability to push/pull i.e. open/close file cabinets and/or handle machinery.
  • Sufficient vision required to successfully accomplish the requirements of the position.
  • Requires sustained periods of concentration.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations without affecting logical decision making.
