Sustainability Fellow

Quinnipiac University is seeking to hire a Sustainability Fellow for the 2023-24 academic year, with a potential option to renew for the following year. You will work under the supervision of the Quinnipiac Sustainability Implementation Committee (QSIC) to undertake ongoing actions for Quinnipiac University’s sustainability plan.

Most work can be performed remotely with minimal in-person responsibilities. Fellow is expected to oversee the work of student sustainability interns and participate in regular remote meetings.

This is a part-time, non-benefits-eligible position with up to 15 hours per week.

• Gathering data on current practices, uses, and materials streams related to campus sustainability
• Researching sustainability efforts at other universities
• Updating information related to the sustainability certification (STARS) at Quinnipiac
• Wrking with the Director of the Center for Research and Scholarship to pursue external grants
• Produce content for the QU sustainability website and various campus communication instruments

• Bachelor's degree required

• Strong interest in environmental sustainability
• Collegial attitude and can-do, growth-oriented mindset
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to analyze complex systems
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn principles of qualitative data collection and organization
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn the principles of grant writing
• Survey design skills a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
