Requirements:
M.S. or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of industrial experience OR Ph.D in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 4 years of industrial experience.
Desired Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with lab, and bench equipment design, construction, operations, and data analysis
Strong hands-on experience in pilot testing of CO2 capture and chemical processes, pilot plant operations, and data analysis
Strong technical background in CO2 capture from flue gas and industrial streams
Proficiency in process control programs including Rockwell, LabView, and/or TwinCAT is highly desired
Strong aptitude for chemical process design, developing process flow diagrams (PFD) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment sizing
Experience in bench-scale and pilot-scale operations, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), developing design of experiments
Experience in analytical instruments such as GC, GC-MS, FTIR, Ion Chromatography, NMR etc. for analyzing liquid, solids, and gas samples
Good understanding of catalytic and/or thermochemical approaches for the utilization of CO2 to convert into chemicals
Basic understanding of cost estimation for chemical plants and processes and techno-economic analysis
Experience in using ASPEN/HySYS package, COMSOL highly desired

Job Responsibilities:
Support solvent technology development for CO2 capture from laboratory scale testing to pilot scale demonstration
Develop PFDs, PI&Ds, SOP, process equipment sizing, for solvent-based capture system
Emission measurement and control studies for amines, nitrosamines, NOx, SOx
Support in developing techno-economic analysis and life-cycle analysis for CO2 capture systems
Support HAZOP and PHA analyses
Run bench-scale and pilot-scale operations, critically analyzing test results and make decisions for parametric and long-term testing to evaluate the technology performance
Support technology development for novel processes with specific focus on CO2 capture and conversion into chemicals
Establish process control and automation, safety protocol, and operating procedures of laboratory and bench-scale test units
Complete design of experiments, conducting testing in laboratory and bench-scale test units, and analyze and document results
Support development of process designs for new technologies
Support preparation of research proposals
Support preparation of invention disclosures and patent applications
