Job Title: System Administrator
Job Function: Responsible for the technical security, design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems.

Scope of Job

RCM is looking for a System Administrator for our Puerto Rico's largest network of pharmacies client.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical security, design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems.
  • Serves as a technical lead to oversee the company’s assigned technical team and all daily tasks and initiatives they undertake, report progress, identify risks, and develop work plans.
  • Able to work with your team and inspire them to reach area goals.
  • Serves as a technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems.
  • Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications.
  • Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications.
  • Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.
  • Participate in the installation, testing, upgrading (both software and hardware) and retirement of storage, backup, and server equipment.
  • Creating network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
  • Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the network software, hardware, such as servers, switches, backup systems, and firewalls.
  • Responsible for the network services, such as email configuration, file management, and security.
  • Participates on creating and updating of network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
  • Monitor and report on processes, uptime, performance, security, utilization, and capacity of equipment.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on the most recent storage, backup, and server equipment technologies.
  • Participate in equipment capacity planning efforts and perform development and testing of new equipment architectures.
  • Coordinate with ISO vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans.
  • Execute and monitor server equipment backups to ensure company data and applications are safeguarded and can be restored to establish normal operation after an incident or disaster.
  • Implement continuous improvements (upgrades and patches) to ensure equipment is preventively maintained, running properly, and protected from computer viruses and/or other security threats.
  • Interact with users and other IT teams to accommodate requests for equipment services (data storage, applications).
  • Lead troubleshooting initiatives and resolves storage, backup, and server equipment failures by analyzing issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and take measures to address root cause analysis findings.
  • Assist in/or Maintaining validated server equipment documentation, perform tuning of performance, install server equipment software, and allocates storage space.
  • Assist in/or Installing, administering, and troubleshooting network security solutions.
  • Updating software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
  • Configuring or coordinating with provider; security systems, analyzing security requirements, and recommending improvements.
  • Monitoring network traffic for suspicious behavior.
  • Consulting with ISO about the best security practices and providing technical advice.
  • Coordinating implementation, Configuring, and supporting of security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.
  • Providing 24/7 on-call support as assigned. Shift flexibility required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pharmacy or Healthcare previous experience.
  • Prior experience supporting Data Centers Operations, Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Servers, Storage, Microsoft Suite, Databases, Network, Security, Backup Solutions and Strategic Roadmaps.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
  • Understand business practices, approaches, organization, politics, and culture.
  • Technical research and development knowledge are desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong, structured, process-driven, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure with compressed deadlines and multiple deliverables.
  • Willingness to take ownership of problems and follow through to completion.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time.
  • Arrive at work promptly and consistently.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); Microsoft 365 Certified Fundamentals; Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals
  • Post-graduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven work experience as an IT Administrator, System Administrator, Network Administrator or a similar position in the IT industry.
  • Complete knowledge of various IT systems and networks.
  • Advanced skill in maintaining, repairing, and providing technical support for a variety of computer systems, hardware, and software.
  • Performance of complex upgrades on a wide variation of operating systems, including systems integration and customization.
  • Analysis and resolution of complex computer applications and systems problems for multiple clientele.
  • Understand existing and emerging technologies.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
  • Understand business practices, approaches, organization, politics, and culture.
  • Technical research and development knowledge are desired.
  • Excellent knowledge of Customer Service best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong, structured, process-driven, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate skills in building relationships within departments and between departments.
  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure with compressed deadlines and multiple deliverables.
