Software Engineer III

Responsibilities

Demonstrate technical excellence resulting in scalable, reliable, performant, and maintainable services
Collaborate with the CEO, Product Manager, Director of UX, and VP of Engineering on requirements and solutions
Write high-quality code and tests
Work within an agile framework to continuously deliver quality software
Assist in the operation of the service, e.g., monitoring, alerting, metrics, logging, and troubleshooting
Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to standards
Help guide the team and less experienced engineers
Balance the needs of today with an eye toward tomorrow
Communicate clearly about what you need to perform your best
Occasionally work with customers on support issues
Participate in on-call rotation, ensuring the reliability and availability of services and applications

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems in the cloud
Experience with delivering a SaaS application
Proficiency with Rust
Familiarity with Typescript and PostgreSQL
Familiarity with a variety of technologies we use, such as NATS, HTML, CSS, Vue.js, Github, Honeycomb, Grafana
Leadership qualities: initiative, ownership, high standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Can-do attitude, humility, and open-mindedness
Thrives in a collaborative environment, working synchronously with a fully distributed team
Enjoys working on a small team with high trust
Perform well given a high level of independence and autonomy

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $160K - $215K
Stock Option range: .15% - .21% Fully Diluted

An accrual paid time off (PTO) policy of 24 days per calendar year. We encourage all employees to take one week of PTO per quarter, where they unplug entirely
Winter Break - 12/26 - 12/31, except for folks on-call
Home office and equipment stipend. Just articulate what you need, and we’ll take care of it
You can live anywhere, but your working hours will overlap with a 9 am - 6 pm Pacific Time Zone schedule by ~6 hours
