Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented I BM Mainframe Systems Administrator , to join our team. This position is 100% remote and requires a onetime trip to Clarksburg WV for customer processing and equipment retrieval.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Filling support gaps and to share knowledge/skills with the current staff in order for them to gain the knowledge necessary for continuity of operations. This support would be utilized for multiple core components of the mainframe environment
The areas of need include: managing overall NCIC system performance; the NCIC Coupling Facilities; updating of the Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD) for the mainframe
Act as consultant as the customer moves into the Mainframe as a Service concept and works to support the customer to this endeavor
Advise the customer on the capability to perform z/OS installation, maintenance, and migration across all system environments
The position shall also provide SME type assistance to establish customer mainframe services enterprise wide via: Ensuring mainframe system procurements and installations will meet customer requirements
There shall also be a focus on: z/OS Performance and Tuning and Capacity Management; z/OS Input Output Configuration and Management ; Sysplex Coupling Facility Operations and Maintenance and Changes; z/OS Installation and Maintenance
This position may also require deliverables as requested, that document process, training, etc. to verify knowledge transfer to the government
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of (9) nine or more years of relevant work experience
Knowledge transfer for mainframe System Performance Monitoring, Coupling Facility management, HCD management, and z/OS installation and maintenance
Experience with Update/create SOP for key tasks specific to customer support for Mainframe as a Service; define/refine procedures with other enterprise services (ESAN, SITS, SEN) as needed
Experience with DR drill process for MQ and Web Service customers; Multi Factor Authentication; AT/TLS configuration; 3 New Mainframe configuration and customization; Port Trunking; MQ Load Balancing for Web Service customers; VLAN configuration
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Top-Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across and/or around a business campus or large facility
