Systems Data Analyst

Assists the Director of Financial Planning and Systems with reporting, data analysis, process improvements, and technical support for the college Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting system under the department of Finance and Administration.

Anticipated Salary Range: $58,392 to $78,829 per year

Responsibilities:
ERP System:
  • Assist with the technical implementation, periodic maintenance, system upgrades and training for all Finance and Administration functions within the college ERP system.
  • Provide functional expertise and problem resolution to business system users.
  • Assist with project assignments, timelines, system configuration, testing and go-live plans; develop documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer to functional users; track project issues, risks and changes.
  • Foster technology innovations to the ERP system and assist users with change and adoption efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels within the college to ensure full understanding of activities concerning the ERP system.



Business Process/Security:
  • Execute internal auditing standards for security and audit reporting for the maintenance of security within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with central IT to maintain role-based security profiles to meet financial systems controls for data integrity and fraud prevention; organize and document user profiles, roles and groups within the ERP and reporting systems; coordinate with departments to insure appropriate access to systems for staff is granted and revoked as needed.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to answer questions, supply requested documentation, and provide data regarding security configuration and transactional data of the Finance and Administration ERP system.
Reporting:
  • Coordinate and prioritize reporting initiatives; develop, deliver, and maintain complex reports for the Finance and Administration division and the greater campus community.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to develop robust and informative Dashboards and Reporting within Cognos to be used by Division Leaders.
  • Translate data into simplified and summarized information to assist academic and administrative departments in making informed decisions; create scheduled reporting and dashboards.
  • Develop user friendly financial reports and analysis on a monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual basis; prepare complex financial reports using queries and college reporting systems; develop, validate, and distribute reports to appropriate stakeholders.




Additional Responsibilities:
o Actively support the colleges plan to be an antiracist institution by understanding, engaging with, and promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity in the college community.
o Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe
situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.
o Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wisely and supporting the colleges sustainability
initiatives and innovation.
o Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, plus a minimum of two years of directly related technical experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; extensive knowledge of ERP database systems and functional user solution support across multiple modules; knowledge of relational database and client-server concepts; experience using report writing tools to create complex reports; experience in writing and debugging Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts. Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds; excellent decision making, critical thinking, organizational and time management skills; good judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree; experience with Cognos reporting software and in using/implementing ERP systems in higher education, preferably Banner, functional solution support experience in one or more of the following: Finance, Human Resources or Student Accounts Receivables modules within Banner; ODS database warehouse and Oracle PS/SQL experience.
