Systems Requirements Engineer (PP)

TITLE: Systems Requirements Engineer

DUTIES: Nexteer Automotive Corporation seeks a Systems Requirements Engineer based out of our office at 3900 E. Holland Road, Saginaw, MI 48601. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position does not require travel.

Develop high-level requirements for Nexteer’s Electric Power Steering systems; Author, allocate, and link requirements within Nexteer’s EPS requirements hierarchy; Author Nexteer requirements within assigned domain, based on allocated requirements from customer requirements; Participate in Requirements Compliance Matrix (RCM) reviews, supporting allocation of requirements to assigned domain; Derive requirements within assigned domain and allocate to lower areas of the Nexteer EPS requirements hierarchy; Ensure maintenance, revision control, and communication of assigned Nexteer domain requirements based on Nexteer change control practices; Allocate work packages for technical writers; Actively participate in peer reviews; and Track, maintain, and report out on quality metrics.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field and two years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: Two years of experience with Systems engineering and control systems in the automotive field; Experience with CAN communication protocol for automotive systems (SAE J1962/J1979) and applicable CAN tools Vector CANalyzer, customer specific tools (eg CDA, DPS etc. ) and reading OBD II diagnostics; Experience with systems V-model development life cycle; Experience with working on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS); Experience with RCM, DFMEA and DVP&R development; Experience with Hardware In Loop and vehicle testing; and experience using Engineering modeling tools: MATLAB Simulink.
