  • This position is currently remote due to COVID, but some onsite may be expected.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Junior Tableau Server Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist with Tableau Server administration tasks, ensure the smooth functioning of our analytics platform, and contribute to maintaining a secure and efficient server infrastructure. You will utilize skills primarily in Tableau. However, additional skills in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and other BI tools (WebFOCUS, Power BI, SAP Business Objects) are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of Tableau Server, including user management, access controls, and security settings.
  • Support the implementation of Tableau Server best practices and ensure compliance with data governance policies.
  • Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize Tableau Server configurations for optimal efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the senior server administrator to ensure system backups, disaster recovery plans, and security protocols are in place.
  • Assist in managing user permissions and access levels, ensuring appropriate access to reports, dashboards, and data sources.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing efforts related to Tableau Server administration processes and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest Tableau Server features, functionalities, and industry trends, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to Tableau Server users, troubleshooting issues and resolving user inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, developers, and business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and provide Tableau Server support as needed.

Required

  • S. Citizen/Green Card
  • 1-2 years of experience in Tableau Server administration or a similar role.
  • Three (3) years of technical or analytical experience in a field related to financial operations, business management, or computer science OR a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years in a related field. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of required work experience.
  • Must have some experience with Tableau cloud migrations
  • Solid understanding of Tableau Server architecture, user management, and security configurations.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Tableau Server issues, performance optimization, and backup and recovery procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Tableau Server Certified Associate or similar certification is a plus.
