Datacenter GM / VP of Hyperscale

Job Title: Hyper scale Data Center General Manager (Owner Representative)

Reports to: Senior Leadership/Executive Team

Location: Remote or Western US.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Hyperscale Data Center General Manager to serve as the leader of our data center division and in house data center subject matter expert. The successful candidate will lead the design and construction management process, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the company's quality and technical standards. This critical role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in data center development, construction management, and team leadership.

This is a full time role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Delivery

  • Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors.

  • Design and Construction Management

  • Lead the design team to ensure the data center meets technical requirements.

  • Manage the construction process, including permitting, procurement, and commissioning.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors.

  • Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor project team members.

  • Foster effective communication among stakeholders.

  • Manage conflicts and resolve issues promptly.

  • Risk Management and Quality Assurance

  • Identify and mitigate project risks.

  • Ensure quality control measures are in place.

  • Conduct site inspections and monitor progress.

  • Budgeting and Cost Management

  • Manage project expenses and ensure budget adherence.

  • Analyze costs, identify savings opportunities.

  • Approve invoices and payments.

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate project status to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, vendors.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in data center development, construction management.

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale data center projects.

  • Experience with brownfield projects and liquid-cooled data centers.

  • Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of data center design, construction, and operations.

  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., TIA-942, Tier III/IV).

  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Asana).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hyperscale data center operators or technology companies.

  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy efficiency strategies.

  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, LEED AP) preferred.
