The AV Solutions Architect’s day-to-day duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- During the pre-sales phase provide technical support to the Account Manger and sales team as needed to develop engineered AV solutions and fulfill bid requirements.

- Depending on the opportunity there may be a need to interact directly with the customer through the life cycle of a sale, for example to help identify functional requirements, understand existing standards and preferences, explain solution options, and so on.

- Translate customer requirements into engineered system designs which, at a minimum, will involve developing a complete material list along with estimated installation hours in D-Tools.

- In the case of responding to RFPs, review the solution proposed in the RFP, submit RFIs as needed, develop a complete material list along with estimated installation hours just as with non-RFI based bids, and participate in interviews and other direct customer engagements as required.

- Coordinate with the operations team (including Operations Manager, Project Manager, installation crew and systems programmer) to ensure that proposed solutions meet their recommendations with respect to ease of physical build, programming and maintenance/support.

- All material lists (including software licensing requirements) and estimated installation hours will be entered in the D-Tools SI/Cloud software suite.

- Upon project award or prior if necessary, generate shop drawings to include systems schematic diagrams and building infrastructure drawings. These are typically generated in CAD by working in concert with an AV CAD Designer, although systems diagrams may be created in alternative platforms such as Visio.

- Perform engineering calculations (such as heat/power loads, line losses, acoustical propagation, sightline analyses, etc.), product research, computer modelling and live tests/demonstrations as needed to ensure thoroughly engineered solutions.

- Provide on-going engineering support throughout the life cycle of the project and assist with final testing, commissioning, sign-off and maintenance support as required.

- Travel to job sites as required to conduct the above duties.
